The Devil’s Witch — [poem]

The Devil’s Witch knocks on my door

Same time every day

I try to stop, but I don’t know how

Please, God, take this away

They tell me I’m wrong

But I’m too far gone

I can’t even see the road

That might take me home

I once had dreams

But life’s a tease

Then my fix turned a trick

And I became its lunatic

The Devil’s Witch knocks on my door

Same time every day

I try to stop, but I don’t know how

Please, God, take this away

What was cool at first

Has become a curse

Now I spend my days

hoping for the mundane

Maybe I’ll pray

And despair will fade

Because not even I believe my lies

This death has got to die

The Devil’s Witch knocks on my door

Same time every day

I try to stop, but I don’t know how

Please, God, take this away
