Join Juan Blea at OpCit Bookstore 9/24!

I’m thrilled that FINALLY I’ll get to read and discuss 49 Tips and Insights for Understanding Addiction is Santa Fe!  It hasn’t been easy getting support from my hometown, but after knocking on doors, OpCit Bookstore will host me on September 24th, at 2PM.  Though I’ve done several readings in support of the 49 Tips, I haven’t had the opportunity to share it within my own community; now that I have the gig coming up, it’s time to get things together to make it a success…

Not only would I LOVE to pack the joint, I would also love participating in solid discussions regarding solutions to the substance abuse issues my community faces.  Recently, I’ve had a DJ tell me that Addiction isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, and also, someone shared with me that the reason she hasn’t attended my readings is because Addiction is too depressing. Well, to address those valid concerns, I hope to present the idea the Recovery is possible through creativity, which is covered within my book.  Yes, there are challenges and there is a dark side to Addiction, but I hope to create a more positive atmosphere through looking at treatment.

I will be soliciting ideas for discussion over the next few weeks; if anyone would like me to present anything specific, please let me know through email:

Here’s some praise for 49 Tips and Insights for Understanding Addiction:

“Exceptionally well written, organized and presented, 49 Tips & Insights for Understanding Addiction should be considered essential reading for anyone struggling with addiction or who has a family member or friend that is. Simply stated, 49 Tips & Insights for Understanding Addiction should be a part of every addiction counseling center and community library Substance Abuse reference collection.” -Midwest Book Review
