Whoever thinks the plaza isn’t for locals needs to go down there this Thursday, July 18th at 6pm. FS2Supply Co is sponsoring the Santana tribute band, Smooth, in honor of Carlos Santana’s 77th birthday. If you haven’t heard of FS2 Supply Co, they are THE premier New Mexico-themed outfitter in the United States. Maybe even the world. And even the Milky Way (the galaxy not the candy bar). What makes FS2 so special is that not only are their designs and products the absolute coolest, but their founders, Eric and Kelly Griego, are Santa Fe born and raised and are simply the best at what they do.
Now, Smooth will rock your chanklas clean off of your feet. But, if you have some tread left, make your way to FS2 Supply Co’s booth on the Plaza where they will be selling their NM-based products. What’s even more cool is that they will be launching their newest T-shirt design, Que Viva! Mariachi Skeleton. The images featured below are the graphics from this newest member of the FS2 product family and I can say that this is the dang coolest piece of clothing I own. Really, even if I had 365 of them, I’d still manage to wear them out in less than a year. I’d wear them to golf , to wrestle, to para-sail, and maybe even to do some, well, personal things…(get your minds out of the gutter, I meant when I write in my journal)
FS2Supply Co will save Santa Fe. Their T-shirts often feature parts of our language that are Santa Fe through and through. The “Que Viva” featured on the new design is the common grito that locals know to yell during our Fiestas.
It means, in short “long live” and with FS2 thriving as they are, the may single-handedly save our language and ensure that it lives on. Theirs is a story worth knowing and I’m sure if you ask, Eric, Kelly and Alexa will be happy to tell you about how far they’ve come. Really, it’s a super-hero origin story that Marvel should really look into for entry into their universe.
So, this Thursday, the 18th, check out Smooth and FS2 Supply Co starting at 6pm on the Santa Fe Plaza. This is an event that Santa Fe NEEDS. We can find common ground that can out last that night. We gotta support this event. For one night, we can all join together and dance our A**es off as one community wearing the only clothing that matters…
