In truth, reality doesn’t allow many opportunities to experience real magic. WE all know that, which is why we spend so much time chasing things that, ultimately, are nothing more than artificial mechanisms that do little more than distract us for small periods of time. However, I am blessed and graced to live with a person who exhibits God’s joyful light on a daily basis. My wife is the lamp that should always shine. Through her, I witness magic every day.
She is a fighter, but her weapons aren’t katana’s or AK’s. Nope, she fights battles with love and happiness. I actually have seen demons run in her presence; they know they are no match for her. I have witnessed her doing the impossible. Literally, she has forgiven the absolute unforgivable and I know of no one else, living or dead, who could smile after things through which she has lived.
The harsh truth is that most people (and by “most,” I mean 99% of humanity) crumble under the weight of life’s traumas. Not CJ. LIfe may try to kick her butt, yet if she finds herself knocked down, she has her moment, but then rises to become an even better version of herself. It’s amazing and I try, every day, to earn the right to be in her company.
I think anyone who knows her very well would unequivocally agree with my sentiment. Today, June 8th, is her birthday. I can’t think of a bigger or better reason to celebrate than the day of our CJ’s first breath. She captivates life with her smile; her dimples collect love itself. And it’s from that well from which we all drink and know that light and magic are real. Therefore, if you know Cherelle, please wish her a Happy Birthday. I am certain she has blessed everyone’s life in some way. My love: Continue to rock your bad A self! God smiles through you!!
