To be honest, stepping into this campaign hasn’t been easy. I don’t see myself as a politician and I’ve never been much of a salesman. But I believe in connection and I want to meet as many people as I can, face to face, and hear their stories, perspectives, and hopes for our schools.

To that end, I’ve:
1. Built Mechanisms for Campaign Donations: I’ve set up my campaign account and donation link, including a QR code to make supporting the campaign as simple as possible. (link: https://www.paypal.com/ncp/payment/H3K2AYL73TECN)

2. Scheduled a Meet & Greet: Please join me on Tuesday, August 13th at 6 PM at the Nava Ade Clubhouse, 4460 Dancing Ground Rd., Santa Fe, NM 87507.

While I will introduce myself and share my perspective, I mostly want to hear from people, directly. How does our community view our schools? What kind of relationship does Santa Fe want to have with them? I have my own thoughts, but I’m running to serve, and that, to me, begins and ends through listening.

I’ll also have copies of my books: Butterfly Warrior and 49 Tips and Insights for Understanding Addiction, available for purchase. All proceeds from book sales will go directly to supporting the campaign.

While I’m naturally hesitant about fundraising, the reality is that reaching people through signs, flyers, and voter data costs money. I plan to deliver materials in person whenever possible, and every dollar raised will help spread the word about how I’ll serve District 5.

I’d love to see as many people as possible on August 13th. We’ll have light refreshments, meaningful dialogue, and an open space to discuss what our schools can and should be.
Please share this post and bring your opinions, good and bad. In my opinion, learning only happens through real dialogue and divisiveness needs to become a relic.
