Watching paramedics take my wife away in an ambulance sucked. The only thing I could think was, “what if they aren’t paramedics but rather aliens?! What are they doing to her in there?” Just kidding. i was actually scared to death. The good news, however, is that they weren’t aliens, they were professional and kind paramedics. The bad news is that they had to take my wife to the ER because she fell and bashed her head into a concrete wall. After the fall and the trip to the ER, not only did she have a bowling ball growing from the back of her head, but she also had a concussion.

When she first called me after her fall, her speech was slurred and she was definitely NOT ok. She was so afraid that she called 911 on her own behalf. My wife is as innocent and delicate as a person can be and seeing her injured and afraid not only scared me, but also made me realize how little I could do. From the second she bashed her head, she was in God’s hands and there’s nothing I can do except care for her as much as I can and pray that she finds a speedy recovery. The ER doctor did a great job in testing and screening her and thankfully, there was no need for a CT scan. She was definitely concussed, however, and remains woozy, dizzy, and a bit nauseous.

What she needs now are prayers, love, and light. By all indications, she is on the mend, but is dealing with a massive headache and, worst of all, fear. She loves life. She loves with all that she is and the very thought that she may be worse than what doctors could know terrifies her beyond rationality. Cherelle tends to care for others more than herself and even now that she’s trying to heal, she’s asking for her uncle for whom she provides care.

Therefore, I ask that you keep my wife in your prayers. If you know her, send her well-wishes. She loves you more than she can express and in wishing her well, you will help her heal and provide motive energy to fight the pain and fear. She needs the power your love will bring. So do I.

There is no me without my beloved Cj. She is the foundation for everything I do and without her, the sun simply won’t rise. I need her to be buzzing around, blessing everyone with her smile and bubbly energy. Actually, the world needs Cherelle to be Cherelle.
