As a writer, it’s always scary for me to put my work out into the world. If there’s negative feedback, or worse, NO feedback, it’s as if the word “irrelevant” is stamped onto my forehead. However, when a great review comes along, I really do feel affirmed that my work has meaning and that it can do exactly what I hope it does. My latest book, “49 Tips and Insights for Understanding Addiction has just received a great review from the review site, Midwest Book Review. The review calls 49 Tips and Insights for Understanding Addiction a, “must read for anyone struggling with Addiction.” This one blurb sums up exactly why I wrote and published this book: I want anyone who has to deal with Addiction to learn that there are tools and ways to limit Addiction’s power. As a treatment provider, I can’t give anyone a better tool than this book. I’ve said it before and I’ll probably say it a hundred thousand more times: 49 Tips and Insights for Understanding Addiction is really like getting a course in Addiction and Recovery and can help overcome the fear and shame associated with Addiction.
The cool thing about a great review from a well-respected review site like Midwest Book Review (MBR) is that now people don’t have to take my word for it. The critique from MBR says,”Exceptionally well written, organized and presented, ’49 Tips & Insights for Understanding Addiction’ should be considered essential reading for anyone struggling with addiction or who has a family member or friend that is. Simply stated, “49 Tips & Insights for Understanding Addiction” should be a part of every addiction counseling center and community library Substance Abuse reference collection.”
I am quite grateful for this review, not only because it’s glowing, but also because it’s affirming the book’s mission and indicates that it achieves the mission with quality. please do pick up a copy of this book, as it could really help you or someone you know find the light in within the darkness of Addiction. Pick it up here.
